Bench Monday: Rockin' Out

Been working more than I should lately and tried to make up a little bit of that with some fun time this weekend.

Out of focus and all.

Sunday.

500 Days of Summer at the Enzian. We got there early to ensure good seats.

Lola-Bacon wasn't happy I woke her up to test out some lighting equipment.

Bench Monday: Sno-Cone Sunday

Visited the sno-cone place on Friday during lunch. Sparked an idea for a sno-cone filled Sunday afternoon. We ended up mading it a double sno-cone Sunday afternoon and it was just so great. I always wondered how this place made enough money to stay open, but with the busy afternoon my question was answered.

Rock and Roll.

Great Day for Beefy King and snow cones for lunch. Just love us here.

Bree have an amazing time with the Cubs!
I thought being in NY would validate my need to wear heels. But it didn't. It actually makes wearing flip flops a little better. That and just doing what I want.

Bench Monday: Feeling A Little Tied Up

Back from NY and I forgot how much that I missed it. I spent my last night...er last morning walking down 42nd street as I was sprinkled with a slow crescendo of orange light. This is absolutely my favorite light of the day and even beats the most beautiful of sunsets. I felt such a harmonizing of the city within me and really thought I was ready to do it again. But I've got so many other things going on right now where I am that really need my attention much more than the city. Even though it's ripping me up inside.

I'd run in a heartbeat if I could.

(Not exactly in the bag...but it's done.)

Baby shower this weekend. Probably the most beautiful "expecting" woman I've seen...just stunning.

vintage storyteller (Atlanta)

The ATL/NY vacation was just lovely :-) I miss it all already.

The July 4th weekend was a little bumpy...it finished nicely though.

Bench Monday: New Bathroom

We recently started remodeling the bathroom and it's finally finished. Though, I know this doesn't show much of the bathroom. I love the yellow and my favorite part of the whole bathroom is the door knob.

I don't think Lola-Bacon really likes for me to take pictures of her. She usually literally turns her head from me when I've got my camera pointed at her. She was laying on the couch in just the most beautiful light. She's beautiful in any light.

Bench Monday: Postcard to Lexi no. 2

and the out take...

Bench Monday: Postcard to Lexi

She is such an amazing kid, she takes my breath away. I can't wait to see all the good she's going to do for the world.

This two weeks is so important to her building a strong sense of self and her doing this without me makes us so much closer when we're together, but I miss her already.

The Motorcycle Diaries: The Lexi Version

Bench Monday: Wish I was 5 again. Kool-aid stands were so much easier.

Bench Monday today.

Weekend On The Road

Had to take some video footage to an editor working on a project for me, a few hours away this weekend. Packed up Eric, Lexi, Lola-Bacon and some clothes and took off for a mini-road trip. The Jeep has no radio and broke down twice. Took this while Eric was fixing it/letting the engine cool down, and after he impressed me with his MacGyver skills getting us from stranded on the side of the road to the rest area.

MacGyver at work (at the rest stop...after he'd really been MacGyver)

Florida Turnpike Ticket

It was a rough Memorial Day weekend, from start to finish and a Rainy Bench Monday today.

Dear Dad,
I saw you yesterday. A grey-colored bird flying in the sky while I was driving. I knew instantly that it was you...and then I blinked and you were gone with no where to fly to. I'm convinced that you read these. Every time I tell you that I didn't feel you there, but knew you were, you stop by to say hi and make it very real...every time. I love you and miss you still.

Bench Monday!

Bench Monday...though I realize it looks like I've hung myself. The tree in the background was a very bad idea...

Farmer's Market Funday

These huge Guitars were on display at the Farmer's Market this morning. This was my favorite artist.

I love beer brunches...especially when they're kissing.
